To decorate the surface of her pieces, Kelsey uses small hand-designed, handmade stamps that she makes out of clay. The stamps are small, about the size of a or dime or smaller and are pressed into the clay over and over to create the patterns on the surface of her pieces. She also decorates the bottoms, because without the bottom the piece would not function and it needs just a little bit of love. Kelsey also uses a glass polishing sanding cloth to gently buff the bottom of the piece leaving a beautifully smooth surface.

Kelsey only works in blues and greens because when we look out at the world, those are the colors we see the most, water, sky, trees and earth. The colors and forms of nature are what influence her work the most.
